My Creative Marathon started on January 1, 2016, when I began doing a daily creative activity following a prompt from a book. This blog is a catalog each step of my creative marathon, 365 days and beyond. My marathon can also be followed on Instagram @rm.hansen

Vol. 4, No. 313, November 9, 2019
4313 - Twining.
I wasn't motivated to make art today, and even considered skipping today's project all together. Then Littlest Miller laid down on my lap while I was watching TV and gave me permission to do her hair. With her laying on my, my options were limited, and I just did a simple mini bun. She thought it was pretty cool and decided I should have one to match. She even made sure it was on the same side as hers. Then she asked to take a selfie together. The way we were sitting makes it look like both buns are hers.

4218 - Styled.
Today in order to prepare for our outing to Target Field for their first Twins game, I braided the hair of two Miller Littles. S with her long hair on the left chose 2 French braids. F with her short hair opted for half up, double French braids combined into one at the end.

Vol. 4, No. 45, February 14, 2019
4045 - Valentine.
This morning I attempted to do my hair for Valentine’s Day (small corner pic). I wasn’t very successful, but I wasn’t ready to give up. I tried again on my hair during my first play practice this afternoon. This time was worse than this morning. Tonight, when I got to my second play practice, I sought out a more than willing volunteer, Molly. I was slightly more successful with Molly’s hair (big pic), and I would have kept trying, but we ran out of time.

Vol. 3, No. 177, June 26, 2018
3177 - Gray Ducks Matter.
A Miller Friend wanted to help me with my project today. Without any prompting, she decided to use National Days as inspiration. Today is National Beautician’s Day, so Miller Friend let me style her hair. We looked up some braid tutorials on YouTube and used those styles as inspiration. This was my first attempt at a Dutch braid. It was challenging to wrap my head around braiding backwards. The resulting hairstyle is not the most elegant, but hopefully it will hold till tomorrow.
